About Jenny
Ms. Jenny Pearson,
English, has been living and working in Cambodia for more than a
decade. She got Cambodian citizenship in 2007.
Jenny came to Cambodia in
1995, and started her work for Voluntary Service Oversees (VSO)
as coordinator of a management training project for a group of
seven international NGOs. In 1997, with support of the seven
INGOs, she founded a capacity building NGO, which known as VBNK,
and she has been its Director ever since.
The writer (Leng Chhay) has
worked with Jenny for 7 years, and has built a wide range of
professional skills, mainly through monthly Development
Supervisions*, appraisals and coaching.
Currently, Jenny has exited her full-time employment, and is
working on some interesting pieces of development work
(including writing development articles) on consultancy basis.
* Development Supervision (DS) is
VBNK term, and it refers to a regular 1:1 meeting between line
manager and subordinate, to review and monitor performance and
support staff learning.
